 ‘ WELCOME TO SCUMCITY‘ Existence in the spicy primeval mulligatawny soup that is SCUMCITY. Populated with sweet sinners, sexy superheroes, elvis look alikes and the punk in all of us. This is where the battle between good and evil is undisguised. Scum City represents an experiment into a primordial material, SCUM, whos shape is controlled by the laws of physics, or as we prefer to see it, the god of scum. The death of design? hey, we’re only joking! but seriously we didn’t have to make any drawings, just zenning out to the scum. Scum from the latin schiuma= bubbling or foaming Scum in english slang= froth, impure, dirt, the lowest of everything or of people. In Scum City you will find the following adventures into Scum:   Scum Light - a ceiling lamp made from hot bubbling polyurethane foam each with an individual shape.  A limited edition of 100 pieces edited by gallery Kreo, comprised of lamps with diameters 56 - 60 - 70 - 80 available  in colours pink, orange, green, blue, black and white, numbered and signed. Scummy - the soft cuddly version of scum light, made from soft scum and in a range of bright colours. Scum sound wall - a speakerwall that uses soft scum panels to create an isolated sound wall. ‘ Scum Sound ‘. Is  the sound track for  ‘ Welcome to Scum City ‘ created by the Neon Nerd Orchestra aka DJ Dynamo Dreesen versus Polynominal. Scum Lounge -  a free form seating produced from Scum that can be formed to any shape. Scum Light was first presented in january 2003 at Jerszy Seymours exhibition ‘Lowlife’ at gallery kreo, the prestigious Parisian Design Gallery which also represents the works of Branzi, Newson, Sottsass and Bouroullec. ‘Welcome to Scum City’ was first presented at Gallery Facsimile during the Milan Furniture Fair 2003. Future dates include the Design Museum London in september 2003 during the Design Biennale, and the Palais de Tokyo in Paris in October 2003.   ‘Welcome to Scum City’ and pieces are limited editions edited by Gallery Kreo in Paris.
